Disabilities

BRAD Child Development Programs provides many services to complement and improve the process of caring for children and families.  A developmental screening will be administered to each child within 45 days of enrollment.  The screening will assess the child’s social, self-help, language, motor and cognitive skills to determine if the child may or may not need further evaluation by a professional in that particular field.  Services are provided to children from birth to five years of age that display some form of disability.

Local written agreements are updated annually with the Department of Health and Human Services, First Connections, educational cooperatives and private therapists.

BRAD Child Development Programs staff help parents understand the value of early intervention for a child with a disability.  It is very important that parents and teachers understand that active participation is of great importance in helping a child overcome or lessen the effect of a disability.
